In October 2016 the Queens County Section collaborated with the MOSAIC Women’s Ministry of New Jerusalem Worship Center to present a forum entitled ‘Taking Back Your Power’ which highlighted the impact of domestic violence and human trafficking in the culturally diverse borough of Queens.  Guest presenters included representatives from the Queens D.A.’s office, NY Health & Hospitals - Queens, the NYPD Domestic Violence Unit and community organizations which focus their work on these prevalent issues. Two survivors of domestic violence also shared their personal stories of victory.  Members of the Queens County Section also attend the United Nation’s Commission on the Status of Women conference annually where they learn about social justice issues and interact with women from around the world.
